Love Stories
Noelle + Mike
Mike and I met the way I think a lot of couples do these days, online. Our first date was on January 12th, 2024 and the weather was negative 70 degrees with windchill. Mike drove from Williston, ND to Dickinson, ND to go on a sushi date. I thought that this man was crazy to drive 2 hours in extreme cold weather. The restaurant's heat went out and we ate sushi in our winter coats. It was a very memorable date and led to many weekends of driving back and forth between the two towns. Many months later, Mike was able to transfer within his company and moved down to Dickinson and we have been together ever since.
Mike and I got engaged in Cooke City, MT on Miller Mountain Road overlooking the Beartooth Mountain range on 6/28/2025. The day started with a hobby we both enjoy, archery. We shot at the Total Archery Challenge on Red Lodge Mountain the morning of our engagement. After we shot our event, Mike wanted to go "off-roading" in his new truck. Instead of picking somewhere closer, he decided it was a good idea to drive to Cooke City. When we got there, we did not have signal on our phones and almost got lost trying to find the trail Mike had in mind... Miller Mountain Road. We eventually found the opening of the trail and started the journey up the mountain. While driving up the very steep and rocky trail... I learned that I did not like off-roading and started to get cranky. I was white knuckling the door handles, our dog Sage, was bouncing around in the back and Mike was getting nervous (due to having a mad girlfriend on the way to a proposal). We stopped at a curve with views to "take some pictures" and Mike set up a tripod. I reluctantly got out to take a photo with him and only knew he was going to pop the question when he started to cry and grabbed both of my hands. The speech was so magical and I couldn't say yes fast enough. I became way less cranky after the proposal and forgave him for the stressful journey beforehand. We ended the beautiful day with dinner at Piccola Cucina Ox Pasture which quickly has become one of our favorite restaurants. I couldn't imagine a more perfect day.

We look forward to the beauty of the venue and the unique experience of a Montana outdoor wedding instead of some hotel ballroom. We are also happy to be having our most important people there to experience our wedding at the place we have grown to love, Red Lodge, MT.
